The Practice now mainly deals with household pet animals with 5 Veterinary Surgeons
consulting, supported by four Veterinary Nurses providing an 24 hour service 365 days a
year. We are based in the centre of Devizes with a large car park available to our clients.
There has been a Veterinary Practice at 5, Estcourt Street since 1897. In those days the
Veterinary Surgeon was mainly dealing with farm animals and in particularly horses. What is
now our Hospital was a Smithy with a Blacksmith shoeing horses. In 1940 the Practice
became know as Barnard's after Geoff Barnard the Senior Partner, The following 40 years
encapsulated the 'James Herriot' days of veterinary practice.
Our aim is to provide a friendly, caring and sympathetic service
to our patients and their owners.
It is very important to us that your animal receives the best possible care and attention and
that your visit is as comfortable as possible.All our staff are fully trained and this is regularly
updated to ensure the latest methods and treatments are available to your animal. As well as
routine health care, advice and treatment we offer many other facilities which enable us to
provide the highest standard of care for our patients.
